How I Healed & Elevated My Life Through Rituals, Wellness, and Intentional Living

There was a season of my life where I realized I was surviving more than I was truly living.

From the outside, I may have looked functional, ambitious, and creative, but internally I knew I needed healing. I needed peace. I needed to reconnect with myself spiritually, emotionally, and physically. That realization became the beginning of my wellness journey and ultimately the foundation of what would later become SDesirebrand.

Healing my life did not happen overnight. It happened through intentional rituals, consistent self-care, spiritual discipline, movement, and learning how to slow down long enough to listen to my body and mind.

I started creating a lifestyle centered around elevation instead of exhaustion.

And honestly, that changed everything.

Learning To Romanticize My Life Again

One of the first things I had to learn was how to create softness in my everyday life.

Not luxury for appearance.
Luxury for peace.

That looked like:

  • wearing beautiful robes at home

  • creating calming nighttime rituals

  • making tea or electrolyte-conscious mocktails

  • taking long salt baths

  • journaling and praying

  • preparing quick nourishing meals

  • stretching slowly in the mornings

  • creating moments that made me feel present again

I realized healing wasn’t always one big breakthrough moment.

Sometimes healing looked like:

slowing down enough to breathe deeply again.

That became a major part of my lifestyle philosophy:
Sip • Slay • Luxuriate • Elevate

My Wellness Journey: Making Fitness A Priority

Another major shift in my life happened when I stopped treating wellness like punishment and started treating it like self-respect. Fitness became less of a task and became therapy.

Fitness became less about appearance and more about:

  • energy

  • mental clarity

  • emotional release

  • nervous system regulation

  • longevity

  • confidence

Movement became medicine for me.

I began prioritizing:

  • walking

  • strength training

  • stretching

  • mobility work

  • consistency over perfection

Most importantly, I learned that wellness is deeply connected to emotional health.

The body carries stress, tension, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm in ways many of us don’t even realize.

That’s why somatic wellness practices became such a powerful part of my healing journey.

How Somatic Stretching Helped Me Reconnect With Myself

One of the most transformative practices I incorporated into my life was somatic stretching and intentional mobility work.

On TikTok, I shared parts of my stretching and wellness journey because I wanted women to see that healing can also look soft, feminine, and intentional.

My stretching rituals became moments where I could reconnect with my body instead of constantly disconnecting from it.

There has been growing conversation online around how stretching, mobility work, and somatic practices may help people release stored stress and tension from the body. Experts interviewed by publications like Allure explain that stress and trauma can contribute to muscle tension throughout the body, especially in areas like the hips and shoulders. (Allure)

For me, stretching became:

  • grounding

  • calming

  • meditative

  • emotionally regulating

I noticed that when I slowed down and focused on breathing deeply during mobility routines, I felt more present, lighter, and emotionally clear.

I especially love incorporating:

  • hip openers

  • deep breathing

  • mobility flows

  • nighttime stretching

  • mindfulness during movement

TikTok creators and wellness experts often discuss how consistent stretching and somatic movement practices may help support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and emotional release.

For me, it became less about “working out” and more about returning home to myself.

Salt Baths Became Sacred

Another major healing ritual for me was salt baths.

Not just for relaxation — but for intentional restoration.

My baths became moments of:

  • reflection

  • stillness

  • prayer

  • emotional release

  • nervous system reset

I would dim the lights, play calming music, pray, meditate, and allow myself to fully unplug from stress and noise.

Those moments reminded me:

rest is productive too.

Creating intentional self-care rituals taught me that healing is not selfish. It is necessary.

Prayer, Fasting & Spiritual Elevation

The deepest healing in my life came from reconnecting spiritually.

Prayer grounded me.

Fasting strengthened my discipline and clarity.

Mindfulness helped me become more aware of how I was living, thinking, and treating myself.

There were moments where I had to intentionally disconnect from distractions so I could hear myself — and hear God — more clearly.

I learned that elevation requires:

  • discipline

  • stillness

  • reflection

  • intention

Healing my life spiritually helped me elevate every other area of my life too.

Creating The Lifestyle I Once Needed

Over time, I realized I wasn’t just building healthier habits.

I was creating an entirely new lifestyle.

A softer lifestyle.

A more intentional lifestyle.

A lifestyle where women could:

  • feel luxurious at home

  • prioritize wellness

  • embrace femininity

  • heal emotionally

  • elevate spiritually

  • and still pursue ambitious goals

That realization eventually inspired me to build SDesirebrand into more than just a brand but a lifestyle.

I wanted it to become:

a lifestyle ecosystem for women entering their glow era.

Because healing changed my life.

And now I want to help other women elevate theirs too.
